sheridan_gal_l_04.jpg The title of this exhibit refers to “America's Team” because, for the first time, the American athletes regarded themselves as members of a team. They wore team uniforms, had a team manager, and looked and traveled together as a team. Their traveling expenses had been paid for in part through voluntary contributions to an Olympic Fund established by an Olympic Organizing Committee, which President Theodore Roosevelt had appointed. 00000104.jpg
