The First Baptist Church

Note:The First Baptist Church on the northeast corner of Fourth and Jefferson Streets was erected in 1840. In 1863, it was sold to the Jews who occupied it until their new synagogue was erected in 1892. The National Cash Register Co. then used the place as a salesroom until 1911 when it was razed. The Home Telephone Company was erected on the site.
